Wow... hard to believe that last year on this day there was a BUZZ of activity at the house! It was move-in day!! By now (3:30ish PM) boxes and stuff were all in the house and everyone was outside on a beautiful day enjoying an impromptu picnic... boxes were everywhere, very little furniture was upstairs (the new stuff would be delivered later that week) and the reality of it all was still sinking in. Well, here we are a year later--98% of the boxes are unpacked (oh, come on...you know you still have some mystery boxes of 'stuff' somewhere you never unpacked!); furniture is nearly undamaged (some scratches from the dog); and while I'd love to say the house is spotless.....well, no.. ya know what...this is not a house... a year later it's a HOME! It's been an amazing year--and it's sooo hard to believe it's been a year! We will be here next year again (hey, we have to be...the Government said so or we have to repay that nice tax rebate from last year...LOL).
No picnic & housefull of people today--John's actually finishing up a week at Guard literally any minute.. I've got a turkey breast cooked and makin the fixin's to go along with it for dinner. His folks & sister are coming over for dinner but it should be a relatively quiet evening after that.
Here's to a year in our home...and the days, months, years & moments to come!
