Christmas 2008

Here we are... December 31, the end of another year. You grow up hearing "time passes faster as you get older" but never understand it until you find yourself experiencing it. This has been an amazing year, going from my single self wondering when 'he' will come to realizing he was already in my life right in front of my face. THe life I have found with John has been great.

Don't get me wrong, the life I have started with him has gone beyond me, impacting friends and family who have been part of my life forever. From not chatting with my BEST friend as much (yes, Scott... I will always love you!) to not seeing my family as much... and dealing with their unintentional guilt...lol. But, it's my time... it's our time to start seeing what life has to offer us--together.

So, this was the first Christmas for me "away from home". It definately impacted Mom more than me. Don't get me wrong... it was strange, but I loved having Christmas morning with John.

So, here's how it shook out... about 3 weeks before Christmas, I decided to call Aunt Cathy & see if she'd fly home to surprise Mom for Christmas. We lucked out & found a flight pretty reasonable & made it happen. THen, I invited Mom, Dad, Gram, Tim & Tam for dinner a night--shockingly they decided to come without an argument...lol Well, surprise... Aunt Cathy was here to!!

Christmas eve was my traditional... at Mom & Dads, with friends & family over. We did not get to church this year, which was a switch. BUt, with so many people it was nice just to visit...

Cheyenne's getting so big... 13 now...

The whole goofy bunch... Mom & Aunt Cathy bought hats for theirselves & me. John lovingly fixed my hat for the pic...lol

Christmas morning, John & I spent together unwrapping gifts. THen, we went to his folks place where the family all gathered, drank mimosas, ate breakfast & exchanged gifts. Around 2 we headed to Centre Hall to spend the rest of Christmas Day with my family. It was all wonderful.

This week's been pretty quiet but busy. Running here & there visiting. Today's a down day mainly because I'm sick with aches & a headache. It's feeling better now so I'm hoping we're up for doing something to ring in the new year tonight.
