Counting Down!

Well, today has been 113 days of marriage for John & I...  on Thursday it will be 117 and the start of our what seems to be a long-awaited honeymoon!  Then again...  these days have flown by!  Funny how that happens, huh?

We will be flying to Orlando, getting a rental car & heading to Titusville (just north of Cocoa Beach) for 2 nights.  I have already found some potential things to do there...from a Mardi Gras celelbration to a Rotary Chili Cookoff (hey, that could count as a make-up meeting for me right?! LOL).   Then we board the Carnival Dream for 7 days of sailing with stops in the Bahamas, St. Thomas & St. Maartain.   We have booked a dolphin interaction in the Bahamas...something I've always wanted to do!   The closest I have ever been to dolphins, ironically...was in Cocoa Beach a couple years ago when friends & I were traveling and happened upon a boat tour.  Otherwise, we're looking forward to enjoying the ship and all it has to offer, and exploring in the other two ports.

And, something that i have not done since traveling on a cruise 3 years ago...I'll be completely unreachable by work!  Don't get me wrong I love my job, but it's one where typically even though I'm off if I have internet, I still check emails & tackle the little things.   But, we are not taking any laptops  and once we board the ship, no cell phone usage since we do not have international plans... whooohooo...a true break from work...

Yet, even more important is that this time is a special time for John & I... a time where there are no distractions of a house to worry with, work to get to, obligations to attend to etc...   just a time for us in celebration of our marriage back in October.

Found on Wikipedia:   One early reference to a honeymoon is in Deuteronomy 24:5 “When a man is newly wed, he need not go out on a military expedition, nor shall any public duty be imposed on him. He shall be exempt for one year for the sake of his family, to bring joy to the wife he has married.”   Yah, whate else would I be doing at this time of night....looking up HOneymoon description... Insert Dork Joke Here..lol

Now..if everyone can put a little shout-out prayer for no delays or weather issues Thursday, we'd be greatful!  :-)
